About Kijiji News

Kijiji News is a Kenya-based digital newsroom committed to independent, fact-based journalism that serves all 47 counties. We cover politics, business, health, technology, environment and culture from communities across the country.

Our mission

We believe that local news matters. Our mission is to bring credible, timely reporting to every Kenyan — from Nairobi to Mandera, from Mombasa to Turkana.

Editorial independence

Kijiji News is independently owned. Our editorial decisions are made solely by our editorial team. Advertisers, sponsors and investors have no say in our coverage. We adhere to the Kenya Media Council Act and the standards set out in our editorial standards policy.

AI in our newsroom

We use artificial intelligence to assist with research and to generate editorial briefings for our journalists. All AI-assisted content is reviewed and approved by a human editor before publication. No article is ever published automatically. Learn more in our AI policy.
