Kenya's sugar production increased by 56.7 per cent in the first nine months of 2026, according to Capital FM.

The rise in output helped reduce the country's reliance on imported sugar, the publisher reported.

Retail prices for a two-kilogram packet of sugar fell by 32 shillings during the period, Capital FM stated.
