When you hire someone online to handle paperwork or a creative job, you want to know who is on the other end. Kaziiko, the Kenyan marketplace where people offer services from government help to graphic design, says it runs checks on every expert before they can list anything. According to the site, verification covers identity, credentials and skills, and verification takes 24 to 48 hours.
The site describes the process like this: someone registers as an expert, fills in their profile and uploads their credentials. The Kaziiko team then reviews the submission before the first listing goes live. The platform says this is one of several trust features, alongside M-Pesa escrow that holds payment until a client approves delivery, verified buyer reviews and a dispute resolution process run by real people rather than algorithms.
Kaziiko lists 43 services across 13 categories, from eCitizen and NTSA help to business registration, websites, video editing and API integrations. Starting prices shown include KSh 300 for government and eCitizen assistance and KSh 5,000 for website and software work; a starting price is not a final price, and each listing says what it includes. The site invites individuals, companies, agencies and even cybercafés to register as experts, and says there is no monthly fee: sellers keep 85% of each completed order, with the platform taking 15%.
For clients, the routine is straightforward. You describe what you need or browse by category, filtering by price, delivery speed and expert rating. You pick a package, add your requirements and pay by M-Pesa. The money sits in escrow while the expert works, and is released only when you approve the delivery. If you need changes, you can request a revision; if there is a dispute, the Kaziiko team steps in. The site says it can issue a full refund where necessary.
If you are hiring for a government service, remember that Kaziiko is a private marketplace, not a government body. It does not issue documents itself. The general advice is to ask what a price covers, never share your eCitizen password or M-Pesa PIN, and check what you will receive before you pay. The verification process means the platform has reviewed who is offering the service, but it is still up to you to read the listing, ask questions through the private chat and make sure the package fits what you need.
Kaziiko says experts are paid to M-Pesa typically within 24 hours of a client's approval, and that every order leaves an audit trail of orders, payments and messages. The site also has a section for Kenyans in the diaspora, saying its experts handle services fully remotely for those in the UK, the US and elsewhere. Whether you are looking for help with a tax return, a logo or a land title search, the idea is that the verification step gives you a starting point for trust before the first conversation begins.
