Many Kenyan businesses reach the same point. The Facebook page and the WhatsApp orders are carrying more than they should, and a proper website, a payment system or a chatbot that answers customers after hours would help. The hard part is deciding whom to trust to build it, and what it should cost. Mycrea Technologies LTD, a company based in Nairobi, publishes its prices, its process and its past work at mycrea.dev, which makes it easy to judge on the page before you ever call.

Mycrea says it was founded in 2021 and designs and builds websites, web applications, AI and automation for businesses in Kenya, Africa and beyond. Its site lists nine services: digital experiences, web design and development, web applications, AI agents and solutions, automation and integrations, branding and creative design, digital marketing and growth, e-commerce, and digital products.

The prices are the useful part. Mycrea publishes three packages. Starter begins at KSh 35,000 and lists a single-page or three-page website, mobile-responsive design, a contact form, basic SEO setup, one round of revisions and a two-week delivery. Growth begins at KSh 80,000 and lists up to eight pages, custom UI and UX design, a content management system, analytics, M-Pesa or payment integration, three rounds of revisions and three to four weeks. Premium begins at KSh 200,000 and lists a full-stack web application, an admin dashboard or portal, AI agent or chatbot integration, a dedicated project manager and three months of priority support over four to eight weeks. The company is clear that these are starting points: each project is scoped individually, and it says a detailed quote with no hidden costs comes before any work begins.

Process and payment terms are published too. Mycrea describes four phases: discover, design, build, and launch and grow, and says small teams made up of a strategist, a designer and an engineer stay with a project from kickoff to launch. On its pricing page it says it typically works on a 50 per cent deposit with the balance due on delivery, with milestone payments possible for larger projects. It accepts M-Pesa, bank transfer, cheque and international wire, quotes in US dollars for clients outside Kenya, and says every project includes a handover and basic post-launch support, with monthly retainers for maintenance, SEO and content.

Then there is the record. The site shows three case studies from 2024: Kaziiko, a services marketplace built on Next.js with provider verification, integrated M-Pesa payments and reviews; Greenfell Gypsum Center, an interior finishing and supplies business, for which Mycrea did web design, development and SEO; and VRINCO Insurance Agency, for which it did web design, development and branding. Kaziiko and the chama management platform Chamabora, which is live at chamabora.co.ke, are Mycrea's own products, so the company is also building things for itself.

Mycrea lists four principles: craft over speed, African context first, technology as a means rather than an end, and honest work, meaning it says what a project needs rather than what a client wants to hear. African context first, it says, means designing for mobile-first connectivity, local payment systems and device diversity. Those are claims, not guarantees, and the fair test of any studio is whether it will put the same things in writing for your project.

One more thing you should know. Mycrea also designs and maintains Kijiji News, so this article is promotional and should be read that way. Whoever you are considering, ask for the scope in writing, what each price includes, how many revision rounds you get, and who will own the code, the domain and the hosting. Compare quotes from more than one studio before you decide.
